I will not try it until 4.1, it's too unstable now and I have only one machine, which I use for production.

i've tried it...
Not so good, i now even have such an impression that kde developers forgot about this distro at all...
For example, everything now works terribly slow (didn't yet figure out why), i got two panels launched (one just like in KDE 3.5, another from KDE 4), icons are messed up (standard icons + Oxygen icons), in Kicker and on panel they are from crystal theme, changing color theme will turn off wallpaper, Control Center didn't changed at all (as long as i remember some things were changed here), KDE4 panel is not configurable, (while writing this message, icons from desktop disappeared), Konsole doesn't launch, plus endless number of little bugs (for example, spalsh screen of amarok doesn't disappear without klicking on it)...
I'll put something older back...

I'm quite surprised since I'm using KDE 4.0 for a reasonnable time now, on a Slackware 12.0 (compiled with the kde-svnbuild script).

About you're 2 panels, let me ask you a simple question : don't you run KDE 4.0 on your own account ? With an existing KDE 3.X ~/.kde/ directory ?

If it's the case, it's written in the install documentation of KDE that you should avoid this case.

Moreover Troy Unraud recently praised Slackware on his blog ;-)

Do you have a Nvidia card?

>> Kicker

Kicker is no more.

>> Control Center

The same goes for Control Center; it's called System Settings now.

>> Konsole doesn't launch

It works good for me.

>> spalsh screen of amarok doesn't disappear without klicking on it

Amarok2 isn't even alpha. :P
KDE 4.0 isn't bery impressive for the normal user, but I see a great potential for the 4.x series. I too use the kdesvn-build script and run KDE4 as a different user as suggested.
