I liked SuSE. Except for YaST, I didn't like YaST. I prefer apt/deb. YaST and RPM were too different for me.

Microsoft has launched their more aggressive Windows Activation Tools, to avoid piracy this month. WAT is very aggressive, as I said, but very quite and silent.

I have detected how WAT is silently installed to Windows 7 users:

DLLHOST.exe - You will have 2 such process, which can be seen by Task manager. Users has seen the process is like doing its own jobs, and use 1 - 10 % of CPU.

RUNDLL - You will have at least 2 or more of this process in your task manager, it is installing the SLUI.exe and SLUI.dll silently, and has written to your registry:

private const SLKeyPath = "SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\SoftwareProtectionPlatform"
private const SLKeyPath32 = "SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\SoftwareProtectionPlatform"
private const NSKeyPath = "S-1-5-20\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\SoftwareProtectionPlatform"

AND, TAARAAAAAAAAA!!!!! after 30 days "Windows is not activated, click here to activate now", clicking cancel brings you to logout screen and you'll have a never ending stories with the Microf*ck Dumpstersh1t 7, the piece of bloatware from he11

This is very dangerous. I even detected SLUI.exe and SLUI.dll as virus, which is Trojan Droppen W32 with Norton 360. Thank God he has a perfect firewall to block such intrusion.

For Windows User, I'm asking you all to change to Linux now. You could have simpleLinux if you love portable things, and to be able to run Windows applications.

Mandriva, Ubuntu,Mint and many others are thousand times better than that Micro_f*ck Dumpster_s_h_i_t 7, the piece of bloatware from He1I.

yeah, i've heard windows described as a virus before.

"McAfee-Question: Is Windows a virus?

No, Windows is not a virus. Here's what viruses do:

1. They replicate quickly - okay, Windows does that.
2. Viruses use up valuable system resources, slowing down the system as they do so - okay, Windows does that.
3. Viruses will, from time to time, trash your hard disk - okay, Windows does that too.
4. Viruses are usually carried, unknown to the user, along with valuable programs and systems. Sigh... Windows does that, too.
5. Viruses will occasionally make the user suspect their system is too slow (see 2.) and the user will buy new hardware. Yup, that's with Windows, too.

Until now it seems Windows is a virus but there are fundamental differences:
Viruses are well supported by their authors, are running on most systems, their program code is fast, compact and efficient and they tend to become more sophisticated as they mature.

So Windows is not a virus. It's a bug. "

so r u saying if u cancel the install of the WAT that it locks u out of ur computer?

This is going on the nervs of millions of users!!!

So my resoluton is:
say goodbye to this and change over to Ubuntu Linux and enjoy complete Liberty of an opensource-system!!!

Microsoft abuses it's users by such agressive instruments!!! The users Microsoft should not tell its users, what they have to do!!! Their icons, Metacities and Wallpapers are already longly circulating everywhere on the internet!!!

So: dropp off these handcuffs and switch over to us!!! With us you will really be free!!!

And once again: Microsoft+ Bill Gates= Game over!!!!! Ubuntu forever and Microsoft has outplayed!!!!

You have to install WAT, they've been installed automatically, but not to face the perfect Norton 360, that I've bought $90 dolars 2 months ago.. So my f*cking Windows still Genuine.. Naaaah...... today I'm having ubuntu 9.1 Lucid Lynx.......... for both computers...

http://www.6times9.com/

It's a reference to the fantastic The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy trilogy by Douglas Adams - in the story the Answer to the Ultimate Question of Life, the Universe, and Everything is found to be "42"; the Question itself is later incorrectly discovered to be "What do you get if you multiply 6 by 9?". In base 13, 6 times 9 happens to equal 42, but this is a coincidence, as Douglas Adams is on record as saying, “Nobody writes jokes in base 13 [...] I may be a pretty sad person, but I don't make jokes in base 131”.

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!

THE BIGGEST ANSWER TO THE CONFLICT IS

1+5 X 8+1= 42
(1+5) X (8+1)= 54

5+1= 6 | 8+1=9

-----
The result is
6x9=42

i mean that with the one equation and bedmas you are doing 6x9, but with the other you are doing 5x8+2, it changes it.

What do you get when you multiply six by nine?

Man! Haven't you ever read a book? It is a joke from a novel! A cult novel! The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams.

You don't have only mathematics in school. You should have payed better attention also to your literature teacher...

Is there something out there like arch except you choose what packages to build your linux with online then download a generated .iso file? See I've been trying out different Linux's lately but all of them have a certain problem.

My main problem originates with my monitor. When I ran Ubuntu it would flash at an almost even interval. I posted for help on the Ubuntu Forums but no one would reply. So I've been booting different Live CDs. I then moved on to DSL where the monitor was fine but I couldn't figure out how to get the internet to work. I put the nameservers in /etc/resolv.conf and everything. But I didn't really want to use that anyway. I tried it out just for fun. I then moved on to OpenSuSE (GNOME version). No monitor problem, no internet problem. But I can't install packages. It's always some error or another. I tried asking on their IRC channel, but all I got was a snobbish answer saying "Installing random packages will blow your system up. Period." I hadn't even gotten ANYTHING to install. I was thinking Mandriva next but I don't have a Mandriva CD like I had the OpenSuSE and DSL CDs. And I'd rather not download a hundred more OS's.

Anyone have any suggestions? I'd preferably go with something like I first described but you could probably convince me to get another Linux.
