Please direct any questions, bug reports or requests to the original author.

AND PLEASE UNINSTALL FIRST ALL BAGHIRA PACKAGES!!!

Don't ask me for my icon theme,
I can't upload it because apple has
an copyright on it!

Includes:

You need KDE 3.2.x with QT 3.3.1 as minimum.
And don't try to install the package with: "rpm -i --nodeps"!

If you work on SuSE 9.x with KDE 3.2.x and QT 3.3.1 it is
enough to install the package with: "rpm -i --force"!

If you don't have the choice in your controlcenter to use baghira, update your QT librarys!

Please run the program "Baghira Brushed Switch" from your KDE menu if you want switch to brushed style.

Download link now points to sf.net, rpms for several versions are available, including source rpms!

 kde 3.3 and suse 9.1

I cannot see the theme with kde 3.3 on suse 9.1.

Does you rpm work with KDE 3.3? If not, can you make one for us?

I can change the style and window decoration but not the whole theme.

On my KDE 3.3 it still works perfectly!

Did you have update your kde from source or from the suse ftp server?

I am very confused!

Has anybody the same problem?

I am not sure if I understood correctly the difference between a theme and a style. I do see baghira in my style and window decoration lists but not in the theme manager list.

I looked at the screenshots posted by the author and saw those Mac-Os style launch panel and taskbar. Are these supposed to be part of the baghira theme or configured separately? If they are configured separately, can you tell me how to configure them?

I am attaching two screenshots and maybe you can see if I got what I am supposed to get:

Thanks.

By the way, I updated to KDE 3.3 using Yast from the SUSE KDE supplementary ftp site.

The theme manager is, as I understood it,
only a container where you can store complete themes as with ms-plus.
It stores your currently settings. (Wallpaper, icons, color-scheme...)

It's only a fast way to switch between different styles.

Maybe I don't understand the new theme manager, but that is what I am thinking.

So baghira is no theme! It is a style and a window decoration.

Are the Mac-Os type of panel and taskbar shown in your original screenshots part of Baghira? If not, can you tell me how you configure it?

Thanks.

On KXDocker page the link to SuSe rpms is broken for ages. Some know where can I get the KX Docker rpms for Suse?

Not anytime, but between version 0.4 - 0.5 it is an must, because version 0.5 includes the decoration.

I have no chance to post it here, because apple holds the copyright on these icons.

But I can give you some good links where you can find the symbols in several packages.

 Not compiling

Hi

I generally use SuSe 9.1 on a P4 machine , but I bought a Laptop with AMD 64 Athlon & installed SuSe 9.1 64 bit. But when I try to compile baghira , ./configure give me error qt-mt not found.

Now if I specify the --with-qt-libaries=/usr/lib64/qt3/lib64 then configure run successfully but make fails saying that libtool can not find libart_lgpl_2.la is not found in /usr/lib

though the same file is in /usr/lib64. I made a syslink of that lib to /usr/lib but then libtool can not find another lib similarly.

Inface I am not able to compile any QT/KDE apps on my laptop

Any body has any solution to this.

TIA

Anirban Biswas

add /usr/li64 to your ld path
(somewhere in /etc, but please don't ask me about suse specific names) and then run ldconfig

 OOffice1.1.1 crash

Love this theme.

I'm using SUSE 9.1 and have a problem running any of the OO 1.1.1 apps. They all crash before displaying the entire application. If I switch back to any other widgit, they run fine. Any pointers? I've tried different options on most of the style pages, but can't find the one that makes OO happy.

Thanks!

from baghira.sf.net/bugs
=============================
However, I am using a SuSE 9.1 and discovered this:

apparently, the 'appropriate' script to start open office is
(example of the spreadsheet) /usr/X11R6/bin/OOo-calc. I
read the script and found that it actually
invokes /opt/OpenOffice.org/program/scalc, after of course
doing lots of checks and setting a bunch of variables.

I tried to invoke /opt/OpenOffice.org/program/scalc directly
(without dcop) and it worked...

Don't misunderstand me: without baghira (which by the way
is a great piece of work!) both scripts work, and with baghira
only the 'unwrapped' one works.
================================
and
================================
A workaround that works for me on SuSE 9.1:

use the option: --widgets-set default

For instance, to invoke the word processor:

OOo-writer --widgets-set default

Thank you. Your last workarround (OOo-xxx --widged-set default) works on SuSE 9.2 too.

 No info in RPM

I just downloaded the RPM baghira-0.5h-1.SuSE.i586.rpm and it doesn't seem to be a standard RPM; no user-readable info is provided on the package:

% less baghira-0.5h-1.SuSE.i586.rpm

=============================== Information ====================================

================================= Content ======================================

I'm sorry, but there's no way I'm installing an RPM if I don't know what files it's going to install and where. How do I know it's not going to overwrite something important?

I'll try to find a tarball if you provide one, but in the meantime you may want to consider creating a proper RPM.

The rpm is fine, if you want a tarball go to the official release
