- Version
- KDE/qt Version
- Architecture (x86/ppc/others)
- source or distribution version

after a long time, this is what should have been 0.7a and is a snapshot of the current cvs version and probably the last baghira for Qt3 ever.
there won't be Baghira for Qt4, don't ask.
- several bugfixes, minor changes, whatever.

- [style] Reincluded workaround for kpdf < 3.4.3
- [style] added Milk style
- [style] some code enhancements/cleanups
- [bab] removed "start QString name int deco" dcop interface (useless anyway)
- [bab] added "start QString name QString settings" dcop interface to allow starting a program with the rules set for another one (or a general rule like "Milk" ;)
- [menubar applet] size fix (using an own settings value ;)

 baghira+oo crash

 by sambo57u on: Oct 6 2004

When I user baghira 0.5h with openoffice
every application segfaults. If I remove the
kde components of oo OR switch to another theme than everything works

I am using:

KDE-3.3.0 (and recent 3.3.1)
openoffice.org 1.1.2

Basically if I start an application it starts
and just at the point that the window
opens I get the segfault message.

I have the same problem. I'm using SuSE 9.1, KDE 3.3.1, Ooo 1.1.1 (with kde look). Due to this problem, I can't use Baghira style... please improve it, cause I love baghira :)

hey ! I love your Mac like Baghira Menu applet.
I actually sent a bug report to KDE about a features like that.

- please add App Icon
- fix the Minimum Width or made it an option.
- fix kicker coloration

my kicker has a background image + colorize match my desktop colors

but the menu button looks like a standard KButton on a gray BG

After installing the latest gentoo baghira-ebuild, I can now happily run the Kde-enabled version of Ximian OpenOffice.org under baghira. Wonderful! But... The OpenOffice.org menus are all blue now, whereas the rest of the user interface appears in the familiar colors (my menus are a very light gray, with stripes, of course).

I've the Aqua Blue color scheme and tried to play with some of the baghira settings (e.g. menu color), without effect.

Who knows how to tweak the settings to get a proper baghira look?

 Unable to compile

by Yaba on: Oct 14 2004

if the prefix points to a secondary KDE-Directory. I have KDE installed to /opt/kde3.3.1 (with a symlink to /opt/kde) and install all apps and add-ons to /opt/kdeapps. My KDEDIRS environment variable is set to "/opt/kdeapps:/opt/kde". I have no problems with this setup and it preserves me from compiling every app again, when a new KDE version comes out.

However there is a problem with compiling baghira. If I do a

/configure --prefix=/opt/kdeapps --disable-debug --with-extra-libs=/opt/kde/lib --with-extra-include=/opt/kde/include

and run a make afterwards I get this error:

make[3]: Entering directory `/home/cschlipf/tmp/themes/baghira-0.5h/deco'
make[3]: *** No rule to make target `/usr/lib/libkdecorations.la', needed by `kwin3_baghira.la'. Stop.

It works however, when I set the prefix to /opt/kde.

To mess up a Linux box, you need to work at it; to mess up your Windows box, you just need to work on it.

 settings are reset

by eric on: Oct 15 2004

Baghira-0.5h sometimes resets the settings to default. I have to set everything again.
This happened the first time just after the execution of ksmoothdock, but that was also the first day I use kde-3.3.1... so I don't know what caused this. Now I don't use ksmoothdock anymore, but I still use kde-3.3.1 and baghira is resetting its settings from time to time. It also turns off the anti-alias option of the KDE fonts settings.

this is more like a bug in KDE, I think - this happens in various applications, now and then. and the more you upgrade your system (eg like me - twice a day) the more goes wrong. sometimes config files get fucked up. a "save config" option in baghira whould be nice.

would be very nice with the possibility to define color for the prorgessbar. would you consider this?
could you add a progressbar like the one at http://www.sadeem.net/tux.html where straight (and not diagonal) lines travel to the left?

oh, and vertical stripes behind icons in menus would be nice too. very good!
