Description:

A widget style for Qt4
- Pretty configurable
- More Mac than Windows - but no clone at all
- Don't ask me to port Baghira ;-)

As for what to do with GTK+ applications, have a look here:
http://arch-stuff.org/content/show.php?content=134123

It suites the default look pretty well. Set the "Default" titlebar background colors to 239/239/240 and the text to something dark/gray.

Thalics complete Bespin Guide is afaik still down, sorry :-(

 Integration with KDE

by damarius on: Apr 15 2010

Score 50%

I apologize in advance if these matters were already discussed.

I am trying to add the support for gnome menus in xbar. I tried to install the plasma-globalmenu and exported the GTK_MODULES variable, but I can't get it to work.
Could you provide some pointers for a clean installation of this feature ?

 UNO/Comboboxes: black on black

by MalleRIM on: Apr 20 2010

Score 50%

Hi,

I tried out the combined head in black, which looks pretty awesome. But there's one thing: Comboboxes (I think they are KComboBoxes) in the head get a black background, too and their text also remains black which makes it invisible. Try okular, for example.

not for me (but there's only an editable combobox in okular)

can you provide a more precide description (or screenshot) of the item in quest and also mail me you bespin preset?

Hi,

I just discovered that this does not completely work. It does work, if you don't "jump" between folders.
If you just extend the folders in the tree (K3b) without clicking on them and then click on a folder that lies more than 1 level under the previously activated one, all folders between stay black.
so if you just had /home/user/ activated and then directly go to /home/user/folder1/subfolder1, then the "folder1" text would remain black, while the rest is white. I hope I explained myself sufficiently.

 Vertical align

Hi. It's greate you make xbar centered vertically, but could you please check up on it? Looks like something still wrong:

the menu is recentered when shown. the way plasma works there seems to be no better way (it rather likes to scale stuff?!)

so there might be a glitch on init/resize the panel (as it seems to resize on screen during init, i'm not gonna comment that ;-P ) - until you change the menu for the first time.

doe that match your experience?

ps:
sorry for the delay, i don't get mails on tread starts, preferably report bugs on sf.net

 Ksplash

Hi, somehow the ksplash theme does not work with my setup - in stead of the animation all I see is big box with scan lines flashing across it - no transition. I am on Gentoo - are you aware of some obscure USE flag that I might have missed somewhere?

after generating the theme, do you have a background.png in the <width>x<height> directory?

 Will not compile...

by gravy on: May 2 2010

Score 50%

The latest SVN will not compile on Ubuntu (using KDE) 10.04 amd64. I figure this is because 10.04 changed the package contents and switched and moved files around. More specifically, here is the error encountered:

Quote:
[ 88%] Building CXX object kwin/CMakeFiles/kwin3_bespin.dir/client.o
/home/acidburn/cloudcity/kwin/client.cpp:45:34: error: X11/extensions/shape.h: No such file or directory

The entire folder where that file is missing seems to have been changed, so I suspect that if I did get past shapes.h another error would popup about another file in the same folder.

Can you fix this so I can compile from SVN and use the latest? I don't like using the one from the repos, it's older, and the newer one has better bug fixes and whatnot.

ubuntu has probably (re-)split their X11 packages, so you'll have to figure what ships the XShape extension (-dev package). If it's absent you won't be able to compile and i cannot fix that (unless i ship all required sources kernel+glibc+X11+Qt+... :-)

If you've got a shape.h header for X11 i'd need to know about the new-funky filetree

Yes, the dev packages that were supposed to be installed weren't, but I fixed it by doing this:

sudo apt-get build-dep kwin-style-bespin
