Description:

This is a set of widget styles for Qt4/KDE4, KDE3 and Gtk2 based apps.

0.49 is the first version to have a Qt4/KDE4 port. This version may be compiled with just Qt4 - in which case the KDE4 control panel config dialog will not be built. See the INSTALL file for more details.

The fonts and colours for the GTK themes will be read in from your Qt settings - so any KDE font/colour changes will also affect your GTK apps.

**NOTE:** The Gtk3 release has been removed, as the Gtk theme API has changed!

NOTE: kde-look.org had a server crash, and the original QtCurve entry was deleted.

Changelog:

KDE4
====

1.8.14
------
1. Fix loading of kwin decoration/config under KDE4.9

KDE3
====

1.8.5
-----
1. Allow scrollbar sliders to be as thin as 5 pixels. At this setting, sliders will be squared.

Gtk2
====

1.8.16
------
1. fix memleak with newer versions of cairo.

 Problem with Pidgin tooltips

Well, after opening bugs in redhat, pidgin and kde, I hope this is now the right place...
As you can read (and view screenshots) in https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=648055 when I use QtCurve as default theme for gtk+ applications I get problems viewing Pidgin tooltips if the contact as an avatar.
I don't have this problem if I change to another gtk theme in KDE control panel. What can be the problem?
Thank you.

Some testing: this problem is not present with 1.6.0, it starts with 1.6.3 (Fedora RPMS).
I tried to compile from source 1.6.4 and the bug is still present.

 Kmix crash at quit

 by kejpi on: Nov 7 2010

Score 50%

Hello,I have found out that with configuration below kmix is crashing when exiting (manual and also during logout). It is somehow related to background gradients in tenuto-light theme I am using (http://kde-look.org/content/show.php/Tenuto-Light+KDE4+KDE3+GTK++theme?content=121885) If I select different theme it does not happen.

Qt 4.7.0
KDE 4.5.3
QtCurve 1.6.4
Theme: Tenoto Light - http://kde-look.org/content/show.php/Tenuto-Light+KDE4+KDE3+GTK++theme?content=121885

It is easily reproducible by starting kmix and then exiting it.

Odd. Works fine for me under openSUSE 11.3. Tried KDE 4.5.2 / Qt 4.7 and KDE 4.5.3. No kmix crashes.

Can you run kmix under gdb? And get a backtrace?

I could try. Isn't the backtrace generated in crash dialog enough? I guess I have to recompile kmix with some debug options to get something meaningful, right?

The crash dialog backtrace would be a start - at least it would tell me which function is causing the crash.

Just tried with KDE4.4 - still ok.

Backtrace helped a *lot*. It told me you were using the raster graphics-system - I can now reproduce the crash with this enabled.

I think I've now fixed this - will upload a 1.7 soon.

test widget->testAttribute(Qt::WA_WState_Created) && widget->internalWinId() before accessing QWidget::windId() - otherwise you'll get segfaults with most systray'd applications and the raster engine - sad story :-(

Hey there,

I cannot install from sources into custom CMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX in my home dir, since you overwrite that setting in the CMakeLists.txt. I think you should use this:

if(NOT DEFINED CMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX)
exec_program(${KDE4_KDECONFIG_EXECUTABLE}
ARGS --prefix
OUTPUT_VARIABLE CMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX)
endif(NOT DEFINED CMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX)

 Thin widget options in 1.7.0

 by shadowm on: Nov 11 2010

Score 50%

I'm not able to get QtCurve to use my saved General->Thinner frames/etc. choice even though an apparently relevant config line appears in my .config/qtcurve/stylerc, using the KDE 4 config dialog.

Also, enabling that same option disables thin buttons and thin menu items, and enabling thin buttons disables thin menu items...it's a bit confusing at the moment.

I run openoffice under KDE. OpenOffice has GTK theme. If I change gtk theme using gtk-theme-switch2 to something else, then OpenOffice works fine.

How do I create a form with the wizard? My "File/Wizards" menu has no "form"?

Also, does the crash happen using default QtCurve settings?

Yes, I use default settings.

Here is steps I use to reproduce the issue:
1. soffice -base
2. Create or Open existing database
3. At the left sidebar click "Tables"
4. Create any table with some columns. It is not required to datafill the table.
5. Then click "Forms" at the left sidebar.
6. Use Wizard to Create Form...
7. At the first step in the opened window move available fields at the left to the right form.
8. Click "Next" twice to reach step 5 "Arrange controls". At this step office crashes.

Weird no crash for me! And I have the same oo.o version, and same java version.

What I did was:

1. OOO_FORCE_DESKTOP=gnome QTCURVE_CONFIG_FILE=/ soffice -base
This instruct oo.o to use gtk, and tells QtCurve to use default settings.

2. I've never used oo base before, so used wizard to create blank db.

3. Selected "Tables"/"Use wizard to create table" - added all fields from "business"

4. Selected "Forms"/"Use wizard..."

5. Added all fields, and finished wizard through all steps.

However, in the terminal where I run oo.o from, I can see the following:
java.lang.NullPointerException
at com.sun.star.wizards.common.Helper.setUnoPropertyValue(Helper.java:70)
at com.sun.star.wizards.form.FormControlArranger.insertDBControl(FormControlArranger.java:665)
at com.sun.star.wizards.form.FormControlArranger.positionControls(FormControlArranger.java:387)
at com.sun.star.wizards.form.FormDocument$ControlForm.initialize(FormDocument.java:421)
at com.sun.star.wizards.form.UIControlArranger$ArrangeButtonList.itemStateChanged(UIControlArranger.java:463)
at com.sun.star.wizards.ui.ButtonList.fireItemSelected(ButtonList.java:467)

at com.sun.star.wizards.ui.UnoDialog.executeDialog(UnoDialog.java:783)
at com.sun.star.wizards.form.FormWizard.startFormWizard(FormWizard.java:382)
at com.sun.star.wizards.form.CallFormWizard$FormWizardImplementation.trigger(CallFormWizard.java:109)

...but I get these no matter what Gtk2 theme is used (confirmed by running under a test user, with default Gtk2 theme). They happen when I press one of the "Arrangement of the main form" buttons.

Can you try starting oo.o using the following line:

QTCURVE_DEBUG=2 OOO_FORCE_DESKTOP=gnome QTCURVE_CONFIG_FILE=/ soffice -base

This will cause QtCurve to output lots of debug. The lines just before the crash should be helpful (I hope!)

I see why you don't get the error. SOffice works fine if it's being running as OOO_FORCE_DESKTOP=gnome soffice -base
Without OOO_FORCE_DESKTOP the crash appears.

I will use the office with this prior parameter. It is acceptable for me.

BTW, I started "QTCURVE_DEBUG=2 OOO_FORCE_DESKTOP=gnome QTCURVE_CONFIG_FILE=/ soffice -base". It does not crash. But without OOO_FORCE_DESKTOP=gnome there are no debug logs at all.

Thank you for the help.

I thought you said you were using the Gtk-themed oo.o? From what you've now said, it appears you are sing the KDE theme.

OOO_FORCE_DESKTOP=gnome tells oo.o to use Gtk for painting, even under KDE.

They did work... But then I fixed a bug where I had disabled the pixmap cache, and this has broken the toolbar setting.

If you edit style/qtcurve.cpp and change:

itsUsePixmapCache(true),

to:

itsUsePixmapCache(false),

This will work-around the issue. 1.7.1 will have a real fix.
