Description:

This is a set of widget styles for Qt4/KDE4, KDE3 and Gtk2 based apps.

0.49 is the first version to have a Qt4/KDE4 port. This version may be compiled with just Qt4 - in which case the KDE4 control panel config dialog will not be built. See the INSTALL file for more details.

The fonts and colours for the GTK themes will be read in from your Qt settings - so any KDE font/colour changes will also affect your GTK apps.

**NOTE:** The Gtk3 release has been removed, as the Gtk theme API has changed!

NOTE: kde-look.org had a server crash, and the original QtCurve entry was deleted.

Changelog:

KDE4
====

1.8.14
------
1. Fix loading of kwin decoration/config under KDE4.9

KDE3
====

1.8.5
-----
1. Allow scrollbar sliders to be as thin as 5 pixels. At this setting, sliders will be squared.

Gtk2
====

1.8.16
------
1. fix memleak with newer versions of cairo.

 Titlebar still not working...

 by YaroMan on: Sep 15 2010

I just updated to 1.6.1, but I still see that my titlebar opacity is screwed up even after logging out and back in.

This is after setting the 100% opacity so that the window background effects take hold.

Should be noted the side and bottom border opacity is fine, but the titlebar is still more opaque than it should be.

Is there something wrong in my settings (My Window background opacity is 50%.)?

Also, how do I set up a striped background on my window? I like how it looks.

What is your titlebar appearance set to? To be 100% the same as the background, it need to be set to 'none'

 size of windowbuttons

since the latest update the windowbuttons (minimize, maximize and close) are much bigger on kwin. I think i had them set to very small but i cant find the option anymore. Was this feature removed? Or is that a bug? my titlebar takes so much space now...

I've not changed the titlebar button size code - it should be the same as before. And at least for me it is.

You could try playing with the "Titlebar text padding" and "Titlebar border padding" settings - setting these to 0 should help. Then the size of the buttons/titlebar is only affected by the font size.

Hi,
I have the same problem under KDE4. Qtcurve 1.6.x increases the size of the titlebar. So I installed 1.5.2 and after a restart the titlebar was normal again.
Maybe it's related to the "windowBorderSizes", which have different default values in both versions:
18 14 in 1.5.2 and 23 21 in 1.6.1?!

The buttons and fonts aren't the problem, because the button will adjust to the titlebar size ("titlebar text padding" to 10 px will prove it) and a smaller title font won't change anything.
I'm quite sure that a smaller "titlebar text padding" would fix it. Unfortunately I can't choose a negative value for "titlebar text padding". :)

Can you send me - via email (address is in AUTHORS file) your QtCuve settings? Just do an export from the config dialog - and this will include the style and decoration settings.

Because I've just tried 1.6 and 1.5 - and compared screen grabs of both titlebars. I can see no difference.

OK - I changed the minimum heights! Can you try editing qtcurvehandler.cpp and change:

itsTitleHeight = qMax(20, fm.height() + 4); // 4 px for the shadow etc.

To:

itsTitleHeight = qMax(16, fm.height() + 4); // 4 px for the shadow etc.

And:

itsTitleHeightTool = qMax(18, fm.height()); // don't care about the shadow etc.

to:
itsTitleHeightTool = qMax(13, fm.height()); // don't care about the shadow etc.

The min sizes should now match the 1.5 release. If this fixes things, I'll update the code to fix this.

I suppose you don't need my highly (except shadows) default configuration anymore?

You already can! Its just not documented (apart from in the ChangeLog), and there is no config UI for it. Edit ~/.config/qtcurve/stylerc and add:

bgndImage=file
bgndImage.file=/path/to/svg/file.svg
bgndImage.width=120
bgndImage.height=160

Use 'menuBgndImage' for popup menus.

width/height specify the dimensions the SVG will be scaled to.

Only SVG files are supported. (And for the Gtk2 code they need to be plain uncompressed SVGs)

 QtCurve-KDE3-1.6.0 build

Hello !

I can't build the QtCurve-KDE3-1.6.0 version on a new Fedora 13 LXDE installation :

mkdir build
cd build
QTDIR=/usr/lib/qt-3.3
cmake .. -DQT_PLUGINS_DIR=/usr/lib/qt-3.3/plugins
INFO: Defaulting to reading KDE4 settings if KDE_SESSION_VERSION is not set
CMake Error: The following variables are used in this project, but they are set to NOTFOUND.
Please set them or make sure they are set and tested correctly in the CMake files:
QT_INCLUDE_DIR (ADVANCED)
used as include directory in directory /home/sebmaurice/Documents/QtCurve-KDE3-1.6.0/style

-- Configuring incomplete, errors occurred!

kdebase3-libs, kdebase3-devel and qt3-devel are installed.
I don't understand what's the problem with QT_INCLUDE_DIR (ADVANCED)

Any idea ?
Thank you for your help !

Then I run cmake .. normally.
After make install, I remove the link.

 Evolution toolbar icon problem

 by pcmoore on: Sep 16 2010

Score 50%

Hello,

First off, a big thank you for QtCurve; as someone who has to work with Gnome/GTK apps running under KDE this is an invaluable tool in keeping a nice consistent style on my desktop. While I haven't seen many problems with the QtCurve GTK theme, I have noticed that Evolution's Send/Receive toolbar icon is missing. I have googled around and while there do appear to have been problems in the past I haven't seen anything reported with the current releases - is this a known problem? If so, is there a solution?

* Gentoo (current as of Sept 16, 2010)
* Evolution 2.30.3
* QtCurve 1.6.1

Any help is greatly appreciated.

All of the button icons appear correctly using Raleigh. If you need any additional information please let me know, I'm willing to help debug/test this as much as possible.

Just installed evolution under openSUSE 11.3 - and I can confirm that with QtCurve the send/receive button has text only - and no icon.

However, with Clearlooks and Raleigh the situation is even worse! send/receive, reply, reply to all, delete, junk, and not junk all have their icons missing!

So, I'm not 100% convinced this is a QtCurve issue.

And, it would seem that QtCurve is improving the situation. If I disable QtCurve's KDE to Gtk icon mapping, then QtCurve is as bad as Clearlooks.

Perrhaps I can add a mapping for the send/receive - which should resolve this.

If you edit qt_settings.c and change:

static const char *constFormat="gtk-icon-theme-name=\"%s\" gtk-fallback-icon-theme=\"hicolor\"";

To:

static const char *constFormat="gtk-icon-theme-name=\"%s\" gtk-fallback-icon-theme=\"gnome\"";

Does this fix the issue? For me I still have "mark no as junk" missing an icon.
