In the sources is a kwin-deco-suse2.ebuild.

It was provided by Aaron Ruznak. Please report if it still works.

Greetings, Gerd

I cant make work this.:(

emerge kwin-decor-suse2.ebuild
emerging by path implies --oneshot... adding --oneshot to options.

*** emerging by path is broken and may not always work!!!

I'll take a look at it when I get home tonight. You probably just have to put it in your PORTAGE_OVERLAY directory and digest it. i.e. - /usr/local/portage/x11-themes/ and do a digest of the ebuild once it's in the proper place.

ebuild kwin-decor-suse2.ebuild digest
!!! Name error in suse2
!!! Error: PF is null 'kwin-decor-suse2'; exiting.

Must rename ebuild to "kwin-decor-suse2-0.2.ebuild"

Then put in "/usr/local/portage/x11-themes/kwin-decor-suse2/"

Then "ebuild /usr/local/portage/x11-themes/kwin-decor-suse2/kwin-decor-suse2-0.2.ebuild digest"

Then "emerge kwin-decor-suse2.0.2"

 XP?

Its looks nice but:
Well I dont want to hammer your abilites as an artist or anything however it just looks too much like windows, now before you go flaming me hear me out, I realize the way it looks is what its suppose to be and the design that windows came up with has for what like 10 years or so and works just fine, XP look was just the same thing with some color. I'm not an artist and I have never made a skin for kde so I dont know how difficult it is, I just wanted to say that I'm sure there is something you can do to this skin to add character to is perhaps personify your personality into it, I just feel that windows look is just to cold. The main reason why I moved to Linux was how your able to custom every aspect of the OS, but I ask whats the point if they all end up looking and feeling alike? Now I realize that part of being able to custom you OS look can also be to mimic another however I just see your style and how nicely it was done and I jsut ask What could be done that will still look professional yet look original. Well sorry for the rant I dont mean to offend I really actually like and I'm downloading it too heh :) keep up the good work for sure.

This is official window decoration from Novell SUSE Linux 9.3 (which is licensed under GNU GPL). Sou you can't blame user who post it on KDE-Look.org, but Novell :-)

Your opinion is your opinion, but in _my_ opinion this is the most beautiful window decoration for KDE I have ever seen...

 Fedora 4?

I love this windeco. Thank you very much!

Will any of the rpms work with Fedora 4?

Rory

I guess no. FC4 uses gcc4 and the rpms are built with gcc3.3 that has a different ABI. Also, SUSE has KDE installed in /opt/kde3.

If you need a rpm try checkinstall or to build a rpm from the spec file in the sources.

If you have a working one post a link or send it to me. ;-)

Greetings, Gerd

Any chance that an option to use a different set of buttons might be added like Glocean (Niffty or native button set can be selected)

Maybe. But as I'm not an artist I could only copy some code from an other decoration.

What buttons would you like?

Gerd

PS: As always, the fastest way is to provide a patch. ;-)
