Description:

Tiblit is a KDE style focused on customization and experiments with modern human-computer interaction. My aim with the project is to create a highly customizable QT style that looks completely different than what is currently available.

A bit of a warning about 2.0 beta. Don't bother complaining. It's _extremely_ rough around the edges and I'm building a new tiblit around a different engine. 3.0? Eh...

Build contributions:
The BSD port is provided by dolmant1.
The ebuild is provided by Lenz.

Patch contributions:
Chris Parker - Styleconf

Changelog:

Tiblit Development Versions now available via anonymous pserver cvs access on sourceforge.

 :O

by Deciare on: Feb 15 2005

Score 50%

Woooooow, another style dedicated to high customisation! I can't get enough of these! Thank you so much.

The ability to tweak the speed of progress bar animations, the small and unobtrusive scrollbars, and the translucent slider are very nice touches. Lightweight comboboxes look fabulous with that subtly coloured arrow and border. Buttons from Active Heart are a plus, too, I like them much better than ThinKeramik's buttons.

There are only two things that can use a little improvement. As mentioned by others, the scrollbar groove looks too much like a button; the scrollbar handle looks like it's sitting on top of the groove rather than in it.

When I use the inner-circumference button prelight and mouse over a dialogue's default button, a weird shading artifact appears along the top and left edges just inside the highlighted circumference.

If I may request a feature, please make it possible to use gradiented menu stripes (stripe colour fades to menu background colour) like in the Lipstik style.

The weird shading effect is gone on prelighted buttons. That'll be fixed in the next release.

And now the lipstik style fast decay gradients are included too!

 Radio buttons

by Deciare on: Feb 16 2005

With GTK-Qt, radio buttons are squished into an egg-like shape and their right edge is cropped off. ThinKeramik and Active Heart have this problem too, but it's less noticeable.

Oh yeah, I never noticed that. I'll put that on the back burner until gtk-qt 0.7.

 Scroll buttons

Not sure if it's intentional, but the scroll up/left button looks raised (opposite gradient as scrollbar groove) whereas the scroll down/right button looks depressed (same gradient as scrollbar groove).

...another observation.
With autocomplete drop-down textboxes (like the address text in Konqueror), the box is bordered with weird colours. Sometimes, Green, sometimes yellow. This is understandable, since green and yellow are in my colour scheme. sometimes I get turquoise. now, maybe green+yellow=turquoise, but WTF is it happening with the drop-down box border, and why is it so inconsistent? if it could just PICK a colour and stick with it, it would look a lot less strange.

My gut reaction would be to say the installation prefix is wrong. The kcs color-schemes directory wants to install kcs files inside the kdisplay/colorschemes directory. Quite a few distros use a unique path. Try:
./configure --prefix=`kde-config --prefix`
