The RPM installs all components in /usr/lib/kde3/plugins, and all documents are installed in /usr/share/doc/kde-style-metal4kde-0.1g. There is a readme and todo file.
I haven't read either one yet, but one must say something about why neither one of us can see the new theme in KDE Control Center. BTW, go to a terminal program and login as root (su). Type in your root password. Type: updatedb at the command line. This will update the database of all installed files for Mandrake. This will take time if you never did it before. When it's done chugging away, use this command: locate metal4*. It's a fast way to find stuff!
locate (file name) is a great tool but you should updatedb often if you add/remove files and apps. Good Luck!

I like this theme.
Window style works good in my suse 9.2.
I can find a name like "metal4kde" in my
window styles list.
But I can't find a name like
"metal4kde" in my window decorations list.

Hi szony,

i guess thats because u've installed from the suse rpm which is 0.1g an not 0.2, but if u could build one for the 0.2 i would be most thankfull...

Can you fix the theme so firefox doesn't crash anymore? I use SUSE 9.3

here is the log

(Gecko:9512): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: g_object_unref: assertion `G_IS_OBJECT (object)' failed
The program 'Gecko' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadPixmap (invalid Pixmap parameter)'.
(Details: serial 2185 error_code 4 request_code 55 minor_code 0)
(Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously;
that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it.
To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line
option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful
backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.)
