Description:

Comix flat style for KDE 3.2+.

I hope this adds a little more fun to your desktop.
Thanks to all the authors of previous styles published for KDE. Please read AUTHORS, README and TODO.

Use the styles configuration button to overwrite the contour drawing color.
Use KDEs ControlCenter "Colors" dialog to adjust buttons- and highlight-color as well as the contrast.
Use kcontrols window decoration config-dialog to adjust title alignment and border width.

Also check the corresponding cursor theme at: http://www.kde-look.org/content/show.php?content=32627

Have fun.

this is for sure the best flat stile. I love it, its very hard to choose between baghira and this one (no, baghira isnt flat, but I dont like flat - I DO like comix. so I have a hard time... basterds :D)

anyway, can you please make a window decoration that really fits it? baghira's windeco can be adjusted quite nice, but the one in your screenshots isnt rounded enough for me, and most others aren't really good, too.

Hi superstoned,
actually i did a few test for a new windec and it looks promising. The point is that i don't want to start a windec with rounded corners that are *not anti-aliased*. I find that very disturbing for example in keramik windec. If only KDE/QT had a function to plot pixels with alpha support!!! So it's mainly a speed issue. And i want to clean up comix first.
Aloha.

You can use flatKnifty decoration. I think it fits quite well.

i agree with the flatKnifty suggestion, even with their newest release ( what is it now? 0.4.1? ) they have anti-aliasing support... possibly useful in constructing your window dec.... excellent work by the way -- i use this them religiously... as a matter of fact i used to switch every week or so... i've used this ever since the first release and nothing else! awesome work!

 Gtk-QT issues

by oshogg on: Oct 26 2004

Hi,

Comix is really awesome style. I love it. So much that I installed GTK-QT so I can use it for a few gtk-based programs that I use as well. It works reasonably well with GTK-QT. There are a couple of issues:

1. The most glaring one is the scrollbar. The scrollbar slider on the bootom has a little line that should not be there. Also the scrollbar slider slightly overlaps the up and down arrows at each end.

2. The inactive tab's title text does not seem to be positioned well vertically.

You can see both of these by launching gtk-demo (just look at the tabs and the scrollbars).

I am not sure if this is an issue with GTK-QT or Comix - I would post this message in GTK-QT page as well.

thanks,
Osho

I can definitely confirm these. I'm not sure where the bug lies, but I would love to see it cleared up :)

Yes, there are a few items that do not look like expected. The scrollbar thing happens with all other styles i tested. I did not try to modify the GTK-QT sources, but i am quite shure this can be avoided.
I had a brief look into the GTK-QT code only, but that tabs issue can not be solved that easy, as far as i have seen.
I'm not familiar with that GTK style thing, but i think it might be best to use native GTK styles only.
Aloha
