Description:

QuantumStyle is an SVG themable style for Qt 4 and KDE.

Themes are designed in SVG files (e.g. in Inkscape).
It can use :
* a per application theme (in ~/.config/QuantumStyle/appName/appName.svg). Application name is guessed from QApplication::applicationName().
* a user set theme (in ~/.config/QuantumStyle/yourTheme/yourTheme.svg)
* a default theme (embedded into the style)

When drawing a widget, the style first looks for application specific one, then falls back into user set theme, then falls back to default theme.

INSTALLATION
1. qmake && make
2. copy (or symlink) libquantumstyle.so to (from) your Qt4 styles plugin directory (/usr/lib/qt4/plugins/styles/ for me)
3. Copy (or symlink) inkscape/*.inx and inkscape/*.py to (from) your inkscape extensions directory (/usr/share/inkscape/extentions for me)

MAKE YOUR OWN THEME
Read the documentation in the doc/ directory
Use themeconfig/default.svg as an example

The style should appear on kde style settings dialog and qtconfig. You may run kbuildsycoca4 if not.

BUGS
* some missing widgets
* No config dialog in KDE
* Drawing glitches for scrollbars when using transparency (Qt Bug ?)
* No RTL support

Nice work. I was waiting for something like this for a while. Do you think you can add support for .png files?

Keep up the good work

This is not planned for now. I choose SVGs because they are scalable. Maybe when the engine is finished I will add support for PNGs. Currently I'm working on a theme builder for Quantum

I haven't looked at the code yet, but it should be a fairly straightforward matter to support PNG. My assumption is that you're using QSvgRenderer to render to pixmaps internally. PNGs are already pixmaps.

Yes I do use QSvgRenderer but I directly render them to the widget. I do not transform them to QPixmap before.
Anyway PNG support is planned :) Stay tuned.

I second the request for PNG support. There are many nice Windows styles but they all use PNG and it would take forever to recreate any of them in SVG :-(

 Please use ~/.config

Interesting idea. But please, don't polute $HOME with yet another hidden folder. Use $XDG_CONFIG_HOME (~/.config) - or $KDEHOME

I haven't tried this yet but I have too been waiting
for some kinda "pixmap engine" for kde....

well, this is a lot better than that :D

also, one can make the graphics in gimp and
then import them in inkscape? no?

keep up the good work!

Yes you can do this. I chose SVG because they are scalable. So no imperfections when stretching them.
I think I will implement PNG support once the theme builder is finished.
